In Buddhism, Shanti’s Sanskrit meaning translates to peace, rest, calmness, tranquillity, or bliss. The poet Thomas Sterns Eliot translated it as “the peace which passeth understanding”. If the literary great were around today, we’re sure he’d find no better word to describe an interlude in our Shanti Retreat.
Perfect for two friends, or two couples, the Shanti Retreat transcends peace of mind. With a generous two storey expanse, three or four guests will enjoy both intimacy and privacy. The main floor features a full kitchen, large bathroom with rain shower, and bountiful living space. If the skies have opened and Byron is misty, it’s a perfect space to lounge and enjoy sport or one of our movie channels. Two Queen size bedrooms and a full bathroom with Jacuzzi tub absorb the upper level of the cottage. One can spot the blue ocean through the towering trees from the front bedroom, and the other enjoys complete rainforest views. Shanti guests also relish an exclusive hot spa surrounded by lush vegetation.
One of Shanti’s most popular features is the extensive ocean front deck. Enjoy your morning coffee or evening glass of wine accompanied by the soothing sounds of the ocean. One can hypnotically focus on the crashing of the waves while still enjoying the shelter afforded by the beautiful flora. The deck is equipped with a “Robinson Crusoe” style beach cabana, complete with bar fridge, utensils, and everything necessary for outdoor entertaining. Feel free to enthrall friends for the afternoon as the dining table seats six.
Many come to Byron Bay to nurture their soul and set their spirit free. What better a locale than Shanti to accommodate you during your journey, with peace, calmness, and bliss sure to follow.
